Equine Therapy (Group 5: 4 of 5, In Person)- FULL

Description: Our upcoming Equine Therapy Program will focus on mental and emotional wellness for First Responders and Helping Professionals. This program is designed to assist participants as they work toward healing from the effects of secondary trauma and compassion fatigue. Trauma-Informed Yoga (Online)

October 26 @ 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm

Led by a yoga instructor trained in trauma-informed care, this in-person gentle yoga class will include stretches and meditation. The goal of this group is to address the body-based impacts of trauma by providing participants with a safe space for relaxation and peace. While this class does not include a discussion, members of the Resilient Retreat team will be available after the class to support participants that wish to discuss their experience.

Moving from Surviving to Thriving: A Four-Part Skills Building Program (In Person, 4 of 4)- FULL

This program is based on the principles of Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), which has been highly effective for those who have difficulty managing overwhelming emotions and having stable relationships. Some of the skills we will be learning and practicing include coping with painful events, recognizing and managing emotions without reacting and/or behaving in destructive ways, building and maintaining healthy relationships, setting boundaries, and mindfulness so that you may experience life fully and in the moment.

This is a peer support group, facilitated by the Director of Wellness, Joyce Carter. The focus will be on how your trauma is currently affecting your life. We will also be discussing and sharing resiliency strategies and how our lived experience has given us the opportunity for growth.

Becoming Picasso (Online)

Through a series of exercises, inspired by theater directors Boal and Stanislavski, and ancient knowledge from the Yoga Sutras, explore the thoughts that think they are facts and that have the most influence in our behaviors. Take an inventory of your consciousness, examine your intelligence, outer mind, senses, and ego. Be in the present moment, break the habitual cycle of thinking and step into the space of infinite possibilities.

Zentangle (Online)

November 15 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Zentangle  is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. We call these patterns, tangles. You create tangles with combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves and orbs. These patterns are drawn on small pieces of paper called "tiles," which can be assembled them into mosaics. Zentangle art is unplanned and more about the process than the end result.
