Survivor Strong Support Group (Online)

This is a peer support group, facilitated by the Director of Wellness, Joyce Carter. The focus will be on how your trauma/secondary trauma is currently affecting your life. We will also be discussing and sharing resiliency strategies and how our lived experience has given us the opportunity for growth.

Trauma-Informed Yoga (In Person)

August 2 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Led by a yoga instructor trained in trauma-informed care, this in-person gentle yoga class will include stretches and meditation. The goal of this group is to address the body-based impacts of trauma by providing participants with a safe space for relaxation and peace. While this class does not include a discussion, members of the Resilient Retreat team will be available after the class to support participants that wish to discuss their experience.

No Rules Art Journaling (In Person)

August 10 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

This is a 90-minute introductory workshop, which will provide an opportunity to explore and express yourself through a variety of art mediums. Art journaling holds a focus of process, rather than end product, and may help reduces stress, boost mood, help memory, and bring joy.

The book, GRIT, discusses how grit can be a stronger predictor of high achievement than intelligence, which was researched by the author, Angela Duckworth. This book also outlines how grit can be cultivated in ourselves and others to reach greater accomplishments in life. Join the book discussion and learn more about yourself and others!

Breaking Patterns Workshop (In Person)

August 31 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

How do we identify the patterns we need to break and create new ones? This workshop consists of creating a pattern, be it with actual items like small stones or with line drawings, or drawn shapes and colors, etc. After some discussion, we then explore creating new patterns out of the old, using all of what is already there and creating something totally different.
