Resilient Retreat is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on helping abuse survivors (e.g., domestic violence, sexual violence, child abuse, sex trafficking, stalking) and professionals that witness trauma in the workplace (e.g., police, fire fighters, advocates, medical professionals, teachers, many non-profit workers) heal from the impacts of trauma on the mind, body, and spirit. Our free evidence-based PROGRAMS are provided in person and online, such as equine therapy, neurofeedback, nutrition, massage, yoga, and support groups. Acting as trauma navigators, Resilient Retreat offers a Kind Line (941-343-0039) to help community members impacted by trauma find support and resources. In an effort to help prevent trauma in our community, Resilient Retreat also conducts TRAININGS on trauma and compassion fatigue for organizations on a sliding scale fee.
Based in research, all programs are focused around building strengths that promote resiliency (Hamby & Banyard, 2021). These include:
- Regulatory Strengths: Building skills related to feeling in control over emotions, creating goals, maintaining schedules, being true to oneself, and self-confidence.
- Interpersonal Strengths: Building skills related to connecting with your community, maintaining healthy relationships, and developing a stable network of people you can depend on.
- Meaning-Making Strengths: Building skills related to finding purpose, helping others, and feeling like you matter to others.
