As Program Associate, Gabriela Gonzalez-Duarte supports participants and helps create a welcoming, compassionate environment. She is dedicated to helping individuals navigate their healing and resilience journeys.
Gabriela brings a strong background in public health, psychology, and community-focused research to Resilient Retreat. She recently earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health, Psychology, and Politics & Government from Ohio Wesleyan University.
During her time at Ohio Wesleyan, Gabriela completed an honors research project focused on barriers to healthcare access in Latino communities across Central Ohio. Her work examined social and systemic factors that affect access to care and overall well-being. Through this research, she gained valuable insight into the connections between individual wellness, community support, and access to resources.
Gabriela’s passion for health equity and creating supportive spaces led her to Resilient Retreat. She is excited to deepen her understanding of trauma-informed care while supporting the organization’s mission.
Outside of work, Gabriela is pursuing her yoga teacher training certification with a focus on yin and restorative yoga. She enjoys staying active, reading, learning, and exploring new ideas. She also loves spending time with her family and her German Shepherd, Red. Gabriela is passionate about finding meaningful ways to support the people and communities around her.
