Authentic Movement (1 of 2; Online)

Authentic Movement was developed by Dance Therapist, Mary Starks Whitehouse.The process involves a “mover” and an “objective witness.” The witness pays attention to personal inner experiences. During the last portion of the session, movers are allowed time to share their experiences with the group. The witness also has the opportunity to express their experience from an “I” statement. For example, “I experienced joy when I witnessed the mover rise up from the ground”.
