The mission of Resilient Retreat is to empower survivors of trauma to thrive through self-care and community. Based on the pillars of trauma-informed care, Resilient Retreat provides free and confidential programs for survivors of abuse, first responders, and helping professionals to heal the impacts of trauma on the mind, body, and spirit. In addition to workshops and educational opportunities, Resilient Retreats offers participants the opportunity to try a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, such as equine therapy, yoga, art and music therapy, experiences in nature, and more. Once our center is built, these treatments will be hosted on our 84 acres of conservation land that will house our Retreat and Community Centers, a place to empower our participants towards a life of resiliency and hope.Current Offerings
“To be a participant in [this] setting can give survivors something that is often missing in the wake of our traumas-hope. This retreat offers hope. Hope of healing.”
“I’ve been slogging through my own trauma as well as vicarious trauma and burnout as a helping professional and this completely refreshed me and turned my week around. I can’t thank you enough.”
“It was such a safe space created that I was able to allow myself to be vulnerable and to connect and to share of my personal experience. I am very grateful for the simple tools that I can apply everyday easily.”
“It is so easy to get lost in the noise of my head and to stay stuck in trauma pattern thinking. Resilient Retreat has helped me to find shelter and to grow authentically. I’ve never found an agency where there were so many genuine, compassionate and informed people like the people I’ve met at RR. They are a safe haven for someone with CPTSD. I’m so grateful to have found them.”
“I can’t say enough about how much RR has restored my hope and changed my life. They are so original and warm. I always enjoy the programs they do and it benefits my life to feel a part of this tribe of people.”
“I’ve been showing up for myself more since and really thinking about my values and behaviors and how they align. I came to you because I was triggered and so sick of just surviving and already I feel myself ready to move toward that thriving state. You’ve given me hope back, thank you!”
“I came into yoga thinking it was just another task give that needed to be completed. I was taken back by the ability it gave to destress and open my mind the other things then work and stress. It is something different then the competitive nature firefighters find themselves in, allowing self-reflection when our job is inherently focused on others.”
“I was able to better understand myself in a way I really only dreamed of. With every breath I take I believe. I just believe there can be something better.”
“I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to participate in Resilient Retreat! Every time I leave and go back to day-to-day life, I feel a sense of calm ad ease comes over me. Then I look forward to the next session!”
“This incredibly kind service has been life changing for me. The staff and volunteers are so welcoming, kind, and compassionate. What an incredible gift!”
“I am executing more things in my life that I used to only think about. I am working harder to achieve my goals. I have not drank alcohol in 17 days. I am more driven.”
