Trauma-Informed Yoga (In Person)

September 27 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Led by a yoga instructor trained in trauma-informed care, this in-person gentle yoga class will include stretches and meditation. The goal of this group is to address the body-based impacts of trauma by providing participants with a safe space for relaxation and peace. While this class does not include a discussion, members of the Resilient Retreat team will be available after the class to support participants that wish to discuss their experience.

Book Discussion Group (In Person, 4 of 4)

Join us for a guided discussion about the trait and importance of grit. The book, GRIT, discusses how grit can be a stronger predictor of high achievement than intelligence, which was researched by the author, Angela Duckworth. This book also outlines how grit can be cultivated in ourselves and others to reach greater accomplishments in life. Join the book discussion and learn more about yourself and others!

Equine Therapy (Group 5: 1 of 5; In Person)

Description: Our upcoming Equine Therapy Program will focus on mental and emotional wellness for First Responders and Helping Professionals. This program is designed to assist participants as they work toward healing from the effects of secondary trauma and compassion fatigue. Moving from Surviving to Thriving: A Four-Part Skills Building Program (In Person, 1 of 4)

This program is based on the principles of Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), which has been highly effective for those who have difficulty managing overwhelming emotions and having stable relationships. Some of the skills we will be learning and practicing include coping with painful events, recognizing and managing emotions without reacting and/or behaving in destructive ways, building and maintaining healthy relationships, setting boundaries, and mindfulness so that you may experience life fully and in the moment.
